This interactive children’s book retells the famous Cinderella fairytale. Unlike the story told in Grimm’s Fairy Tales, this child suitable version does not contain any violence. The narrative style focuses on conveying a tolerant world view and promoting self-esteem. The characters are relatable and do not correspond to the common, unattainable ideals of beauty.

In addition to the interactive story, some mini-games are included, which are seamlessly incorporated into the narration. Through the child-friendly implementation, this app is suitable to promote the media literacy of children as early as preschool age.

Golden Orb is a small, independent game company from Germany, which we, Katharina and Sonja, founded to develop high-quality, interactive children’s books. We write the stories ourselves, based on traditional narrations. We manually draw and animate the characters as well as the game world and add interactive elements to the mix, so that all combined creates a lovely app for children.
